EPL² - Position Lights with Power-Beams

High performance-LED's and special reflectors

Our new generation of position lights is characterized by a interaction between high performance-LED's and special reflectors.

Three Power-Beams generate a wide visible light via a cleverly devised angle system of reflectors. The integrated cooling plate leads off the excess head of the high performance LED's.

Tannkosh 2010 - Tannheim 12.08.2010

We join in!

Thiesen Electronics GmbH with booth at Tannheim

This year from 27th to 29th August one of Germany's biggest Fly-Ins takes place. Thiesen Electronics GmbH will attend already on the 26th and present their established position lights and landing lights as well as a selection of some new products.

The new Wingtip Anticollision Beacon (WACB) and the Electronic Rotating Beacon-Heli (ERB-H) especially for helicopters will be the special highlight of the show.

We'd love it if you stopped by!

New ERB - especially for helicopters

ERB-H resist very rigorous demands!

Due to continuous development of our ERB, a ruggedized version for helicopter is now available: the ERB-H. The ERB-H is also applicable for airplanes and powered gliders. An LTA for the powered glider Scheibe-Falke SF25 C is already in preparation.

AERO 2010 20.04.2010

An excellent trade-fair appearance at AERO 2010

Constructive conversation with visitors

The Thiesen Electronics GmbH - pioneer of LED-aircraft lights - looks back on an excellent trade-fair appearance with many innovations.

One highlight was the presentation of the trendsetting Wingtip-Anticollision Beacon (WACB), which will be mounted to the wing tip. It will replace the traditional ACLs and position lights. With great interest, the visitors looked closely at the new electronic landing lights ELL2, ELL2c, and ELL3 as well as the electronic taxi light ETL.

In addition to this novelties the interested parties of course could find the established lights EPL, EPL-Taillight, ACL³, ELL, and ERB. Further ideas and innovations were worked out in constructive discussions. These will be taken in consideration for the next generation of aircraft lights.

Neues Wingtip-Anticollision Beacon auf der AERO 2010 04.04.2010

Thiesen Electronics GmbH - pioneer of LED position lights

... presents the new Wingtip-Anticollision Beacon (WACB) at AERO 2010 (stand A3-305/4)

On time to the AERO 2010 exhibition the Thiesen Electronics GmbH present their brand new product: the WACB (Wingtip-Anticollision Beacon).

The WACB will be mounted on the wingtips and replaces Anticollision Lights (ACL) and Position Lights (EPL).

LEDs for the Anticollision Beacon as well as the LEDs for position lights are both integrated in one WACB.

As a matter of course the whole electronic system ist integrated inside teh WACB. Therefore no additional "Blackbox" is required. Only the supply voltage has to be connected. The weight of the WACB is less than 200 g, what's important espacially for manufacturer of ultra-light aircrafts.

As all of the Electronic Positioning Lights of the Thiesen company, the WACB is conform to international aviation norms concerning light bracket and brightness.

We successfully implement the LEDs on smallest space and meet the demands of >400 effectiv candela for AntiCollisionLights.

Furthermore we present the four "120 mm diameter Electronic Landing Lights":

  • ELL2: Landing Light (60w), combined with ACL and an enormous luminosity of 30.000 candela for the Landing Light and effective 9.000 candela for ACL.
  • ELL2c: Like ELL2, admittedly for cowling mounting with center cooling.
  • ELL3: Landing Light only (100w) with fabulous 50.000 candela luminosity.
  • ETL: Electronic Taxi Light (100w) with adequate light bracket and 15.000 candela luminosity.

See for yourself! Visit us at AERO 2010 in Fridrichshafen on our stand A3-305/4.

ACL³ replaces ACL I 31.08.2009

ACL I is now been replaced by ACL³

ACL³ at the price of ACL I

By usage of newest LED technologie and optimized manufacturing technique, we where able to reduce the production costs of our ACL³. Therefore the ACL I is now been replaced by ACL³.

With ACL³ you get doubled brightness at the same price!

NEW - NEW - NEW - ACL³ 12.03.2009

Anti Collission Light - ACL³

New, improved model of our established ACL!

Constructive on extensive experience we anhanced our ACL. By usage of newest LED technologie in conjunction with our collected Know How we successfully pushed the development to the top of what is technically feasible nowadays.

The ACL³ replaces the so far produced ACL II and increases the brightness by 30% of the ACL II.

Now available - Fitting system ELL 16.05.2008

Fitting system for cowling mounting

Now available –automatic ventilation

Material : fibreglas-epoxy
gross weight : 35 gram

The automatic ventilation duct of the cooling air is guaranteed by using this fitting system for cowling mounting.

NEW - NEW - NEW - Electronic Rotating Beacon (ERB) 15.02.2008

Electronic Rotating Beacon - ERB

Due to continuous development of our Anti Collision Lights we now can offer an ACL in LED-Technology which allows a longer lifetime and less weight at same brilliancy compared to a conventional Xenon-Flash based ACL.

Our ERB is worldwide the first ACL in LED-Technology which accords to the FAR23 regulations.

Electronic Landing Light - lighter and thinner 22.01.2008

Electronic Landing Light - ELL

Due to continous development of our Landing Light (ELL) we managed to optimize the weight and the height of the ELL. The Weight was reduced from 275 g down to 230 g. The installation depth decreases by 5 mm to 35 mm.

Aero 2007 18.04.2007

In 2007 we presented our new Electronic Landing Light - ELL with integrated ACL in addittion to our other Lights at the Aero in Friedrichshafen.

Position Lights on seaplanes 03.08.2006

Our electronic LED Position Lights are also used on "experimental seaplane aircraft".

Thanks to its advanced design our EPLs are resistant to water and seawater and, therefore, ideally suited for use in seaplanes as well.

Winglet in Australia 22.02.2006

Currently, our new Winglet ACLs for gliders are undergoing trials in Adelaide / South Australia.

A Schleicher ASH 25 is being used for these trials.

Aero 2005 10.02.2006

The ACL-Winglet for gliders and the EPL and ACL for ultra-light aircraft were presented in cooperation with the DAeC Büro für Flugsicherheit at the Aero 2005 in Friedrichshafen (Germany).
